GET OUTSIDE
For those of you who have done sessions with me, you know that we live in the middle of nowhere. I shoot most of my sessions at our property because we have a lot of land which gives so many awesome options for your session. I love living out here, yes it takes about 25 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store, no we can't get any food or grocery delivery but its so worth it! Since where we live is pretty secluded, we can spend a lot of time outside. I find that the days are so much sweeter, the kids are in such better moods when we just get outside and play! No one likes being cooped up in the house for too long. The other day I decided to take the kids outside to get some photos of a couple of the new client wardrobe dresses that I have. We went to a new part of the property where we keep one of our horses and some cows. As soon as we parked the kids automatically walked over to the cows. My oldest daughter Riley ended up falling in love with one of the cows because it kept getting close enough for her to pet which doesn't happen a lot. It was so easy to get their photos when they were having a good time and not worried about looking at me and the camera. I prefer these kind of photos anyways so it worked!
I know not everyone lives in the middle of no where and you may not have horses or cows but there are still so many things you can do to just get outside! Here is a list of my ideas to do with your kids!
- Go to a lake and feed the ducks
- Go outside and watch for birds/ catch butterflies
- Go for a walk or bike ride
- Plant a raised garden
- Have a picnic
- Get creative with side walk chalk
- Play in the sprinklers
- Water balloon fight
- Bubbles
- Make mud pies
- Paint rocks
- Play catch
- Jump rope and hula hoop
- Climb trees
- Exercise
- Play hide and seek
- Play with your animals
